I noticed we have several members who know their way arround trance etc.
I propose a discussion thread. Talk about your favorite artist here, such as Moby, Darude, Oakenfold, Van Buuren...

I'll start with my favorite artists.

One of them is ATB, Andree Tanneberger can create trully melodic trance.

The second is Rank 1, Benno and Piet from Holland. Excellent energetic and original trance. Sadly they are not well known.

The third is Safri Duo, a fusion between Trance and Drums n' Bass. It requires skill to successfully mix 2 styles into one and Safri Duo are very talented.

I would really like to get a hold of one of Juno Reactor's albums. Bible of Dreams seems to be popular. They did a lot of the music for The Matrix and anything else of their's that I've heard I've loved.

One of my all-time favourite groups is Dune, but only their earlier stuff. Their later stuff is commercial crap. They do happy hardcore. Try one of their albums: Dune or Expedition. Their music is quite specialist, though. You need to like rave music to enjoy it.

I'm right for the moment, but thanks. I'll get it when I'm ready.

Don't mind me, I'm funny with music and movies and games and stuff.

I used to be into Trance & Techno etc, many years ago (the good old Techno Trance compilation albums). My favorites Obsessive, The Jeyenne ... . Lost my CD's from back then.

Today, I'm not at all interested anymore. Not in the newer artists tho.
Imo artists like DJ Tiesto are rip-off. Everytime I see the stupid adds on TV Nothing original anymore.

don't really categorise my techno music (all i need to know is whether i like it or not) but i do know that i love (80's) petshop boys, new order, depeche mode, KLF. there are more that i can't recall. (90's) future sound of london (2nd all-time fav), orbital (all-time fav), aphex twins, dj shadow, underworld, prodigy, chemical brothers (first 2 albums), ... there are more that slip my mind. (2k) unkle (the only one?).

thanks for the ideas, everybody & especially to the dude of death for opening this thread so i get to find out more on techno music.

Has anyone ever heard of Talla2xlc. He makes great music. It is a mixture between the 90's style trance(now I loved that) and a little bit of the new age.

I really like Oakenfold and The Crystal Method. Of The Method I like their last 2, Vegas and Legion of Boom. Of Oakie I think what I listen to the most is Bunka and Swordfish, Perfetco Presents and Traveling. I like the brothers Orbital real well also. Anybody ever get into Gary Newman back in the 80's? I have just been looking through my old cassets and listened to some of him while having my afternoon cocktail. I still enjoy it even after all these years. I was well into Gary Numan, my generation you see. I have most of his singles and EP's up in my loft gathering dust. "We are Glass" was one of my favourites.

The method has more than 2! Hehe...Keep Hope Alive, good also, includes the opening theme song to the t.v. show 3rd Watch. Do you get that show where you are? I am getting ready to do some shopping and have discovered that I might like Scott Bond and Chale & Fernandez. I am gonna buy their CD and check em out. The samples I heard sound pretty good. Here is a good site for checking samples. It requires the Real player... Dance Grooves

I don't know if I really have a favorite with the amount of "favorites" I have.
Daft Punk, Darude, DJ Tiesto, DJ Mangoo, Gemini Dance, Robert Miles, Paul Oakenfold, Dune, Freezepop, Scooter... why must you make me choose?!?!?!
