Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) General North America Relase Date

I read the interview with gamezone and saw something that scared me. Beyond Divinity relase date isn't until may 8th? To confirm I went to where I had pre-ordered the game (ebgames) and see April 27th. I checked other sources such as Gamespot.com and Gamestop.com and both of them said April 13th. Can someone give me the correct answer?

I am afraid no one could really confirm a release date until the English version actually goes Gold. Then you can add a week (in Europe) or two (? in Northern America)

Warhammer is certainly right but there's seems to be a trend of online stores moving the date back. My UK pre-order has been changed to April 30th.

If I'm not too much mistaken, the American releasedate is the 12th of April, unless something serious comes up. But in any case, you should be able to get the game in April still.

What happen to the simultaneous release date???

I don't think there were any plans for a simultaneous release. But to think about it, 2 weeks difference between German and Belgian release isn't even that bad, concidering some games in Europe only get released several months after they were already released in Japan and America.

AFAIK, with different publishers, etc involved, 'simultaneous' releases are generally considered to anything within a couple weeks or so.

Warcraft 3 had a simultaneous worldwide release announced on the 5th of july 2002 and this day you could find the game in any store.
Exactly the same day for everybody.

If there are different publishers, it is not more difficult, you just have to to choose a common date for the different countries and ask to the publishers to begin to sell the game at this date.

The Problem is that the USA is more or less one big country with the size of Europe (more or less <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> ) , so publishers have an easy way publishing there : One license for such a big country ... Europe is - measured at that - higly complicated because of the many countries ... you get to know that in the music industry, for example.

Well, I'm surprised Divine Divinity wasn't rated M. Frequent violence, sex themes, drug references, occasional coarse language...

I went into gamestop today and pre-ordered <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> and canceled my pre-order with ebgames (for the free copy of <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> of course and yet to my suprise i recieved no free copy of <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> instead I recieved a FarCry demo <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />) and they said it would be relased april 14th.

April 13th sure seems very early for a North American Release date when the game hasn't gone gold for the North American Version. I think more towards the end of the month, unless it goes gold right away and the publisher is already ready to send it
out to stores right away...Thank God the game will be more Adult! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
it could be delayed but who knows...I am sure it comes out in April sometime.

Digital Jester's box art has a rating of 12+. From the demo, it doesn't look like Beyond Divinity is any more violent than Divinity, which had a teen rating.

we'll have to see what the developers come up with, what suprises they created in the story. A darker story? I am sure it's all good.

Im thinking the ESRB never found the hidden area in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> where you find the Larian Armor. Its been awhile but I remember wondering why this game recieved a T instead of M.
