I don't know if this a bug or not but when I go to speak to Roost with Ifan we immediately go into a fight, and then afterwards the journal doesn't update even if I read all the books/notes/etc.

I'm having the same problem. I can get the quest to update with Sebille when she talks to Roost, but I haven't been able to get the quest log to update with Ifan.

Had this same problem aswell and have managed to fix it.

I had to go back and talk to the Dwarf in the Wrecker's Cave (the area where your party gets separated) with Ifan. I only spoke to her with Beast who ended up in that section and never went there with Ifan.

Do that and it should get things rolling again.

Same issue here. I eventually gave up and just went ahead to the next act, because this was the last thing I thought I could resolve. When I loaded onto the Nameless Isle I got that quest as failed...

I talked to both the dwarf and Hannag with Ifan, but I still can't get his quest log to update with Roost.

Prolly not going to then. I started a guide on steam about companion quests. I listed all the steps I did to get the journal updates and such.

If you haven't talked to the guy at the top of the tavern, do so. He's....well, I"m too lazy to put spoiler tags up. So just let Ifan talk to him. That dialogue sends you to Roost.

And Saccy is right. To get the most out of Ifan's dialogue, I went with "dwarf in Wrecker's" then "Hannag". He's really got two different things going on. Ifan's role in the Deathfog attack, and his current work as a Lone Wolf. So keep that in mind as you play.
