You'll want to look into adding Boosts to your weapon. That's how you can have both physical and elemental damage.
Example: Adding _Boost_Weapon_Damage_Air_Large to the Boosts field on a weapon adds a large amount of air damage. Weapon boost stats are weapon stats too, inheriting "_BOOSTS_Weapon".
Edit: This is in the editor, by the way. Not sure if this is possible in GM mode.
