So earlier today (6 hours ago at the time of this posting) GOG released the fixed toolset for their edition of the game. For some reason when I download them it's still the old version which is broken, and I cannot use the toolset.
I'm wondering if any of you could help me out by uploading the new toolset somewhere? Like https://mega.nz/ by chance? I have a ticket in with GOG atm, but idk how long it's going to take (last time it took almost a week).
To get the editor First, you need to go to your game page -> "More" tab -> Backup and goodies
The Tools are in the Game extras section under the "Editor" heading
Clicking on it will download it to your computer in the ...\GalaxyClient\Games!Downloads\divinity_original_sin_2 folder
Idk this is weird and idk why it's doing this to me, I even updated GOG galaxy but it's just not working -_-
Any help would be really appreciated!!

When you download the editor from gog its a file called divinity_original_sin_2_editor_.zip and when you open it there should be 2 folders inside (DOS2_Editor and Editor) you can copy the DOS2_editor folder anywhere you want the divinity engine 2 editor to be, and you should place the Editor folder inside your divinity 2 data folder

there should also be a readme inside that reads

"/ In order to use The Divinity Engine 2 please copy "Editor" folder to "Divinity - Original Sin 2\Data" folder, for example "C:\GOG Games\Divinity - Original Sin 2\Data".
To launch The Divinity Engine 2 please use DivinityEngine2.exe.
NOTE!: Please remember to link the game Data folder - for example "C:\GOG Games\Divinity - Original Sin 2\Data" when launching the Editor. \"

Have you tried doing that? hope that helps.

You can also download it from the GOG website instead of via Galaxy (I guess that's what you mean by "client"?). It's on the right of the game downloads, under "Game Goodies".

Have you tried deleting the old .zip file and then restarting GoG Galaxy? Maybe even the PC in case GoG Galaxy stores cache data in the temp folder? Or maybe there are remnants in "\GoG Games\!Downloads\temp\" or in "\GoG Games\!Downloads\divinity_original_sin_2\!Temp\"
