The sophisticated trait is pretty useless compared to the traits of the other undead races, since it grants poison resistance which undead already have at 200%.
The fire resistance is nice, but the extra poison resistance is completely useless because you can't go above 200% anyways.
Every other race has something worth choosing that race over, but undead lizards don't have any particular advantage over the other skeletal races.

Side note: enemies that otherwise don't know you're undead somehow know to use healing magic to damage you? I thought the point of concealing yourself as undead was to prevent that?

The main reason one picks the Lizard race is for the Lizard attributes. When you talk to people you gain the "Lizard" options in conversations. You also have the ability to "dig" without using a shovel.

However if you are the only undead in the party then halfway through Act 1 you should have picked up The Mask(Dun dun duuunnnnnn) and that completely overturns any and all thoughts about Undead racial traits because holy crap is the Mask broken as hell on an undead. You gain a huge amount of flexibility in fights in exchange for giving up your helmet slot, and I whole heartedly find the Lizard form's fire breath useful.

BTW in regard to your side note a lot of people recognize you're undead even while fully garbed, and of course I'd expect wild animals can as well due to the whole smell of death that exudes from you.
Besides it's probably a balancing or coding issue where it would've complicated things and made Undead possibly too powerful.

Other races get racial dialogue options, and lizard options aren't inherently better than the others. The mask of the shapeshifter is available to the rest of them as well, and honestly at that point you might as well not be an undead lizard if you aren't going to play as an undead lizard.

For combat, people who recognize you as undead should definitely have that advantage in combat, but if they don't know then why should they attempt to damage you with healing magic? It's pretty immersion breaking, so an alteration there would be much appreciated. Balancing is an issue though, so I agree undead would have to be nerfed in some way to make up for it.
