Waaaay deep in the cellars of his house...

Does anyone know what's up with it? I've tried moving the barrel and things like that, I've also used spirit vision, but I never found anything. Anyone else have any better luck?

im still trying to figure it out... back in the driftwood fish market you could loot a scroll called "voidwoken fish exchange" where the flavor text was something along the lines of "tell the doctor his fish are ready". I guess it must have something to do with that, but i didn't hold on to the scroll and cant find out now. Also, were you able to get the magically locked chests open?

I was able to lockpick all of them, but by then beast had max thievery and possibly a bonus or two from gear. I don't know the lockpick requirement, but I never found any magical mechanism other than lockpicking.

There wasn't really anything special in the magic chests.

But that scroll is a great idea! I'll have to try that out on my next playthrough. I remember using it on a random barrel of fish and nothing happened.

When in Arx, there is a barrel at the lowest level of the blackhouse where if you try to move it, it'll say "its stuck to the platform". Note a symbol on it. Now head outside, past the graveyard adjacent to the house and down to the seaside. You'll find another barrel with a similar symbol. Put some fish in that one, and cast the scroll on it. It'll be sent to the barrel in the lowest level of the house. I've tried the reverse way (basement to seaside) but it didnt work. Also, tried with different types of fish, including voidtainted fish, nothing significant.

You literally just sent the doctor his lunch.

I only found this out after killing the doctor, so I'm not entirely sure if you get anything after doing that while he is alive. But i highly doubt you'll get anything, because trying to get to the lowest level of the house will aggro everyone in the house and you'll be forced to kill him either way.

Maybe you can poison him or something?

I just placed a few fish in the barrel (poisoned & void-tainted one time, and normal ones the second) and cast the aforementioned scroll on the barrel outside on the beach. Both times the fish were simply replaced with 1000 gold, and it seemed to have no effect on the Doctor himself when talking to him after, so I don't think you can poison him for the upper hand or anything, just a little bit of extra cash. lol

like 1000 gold per fish, or just 1000 gold?

'cause if it's the former, then that has some really interesting repercussions on how you do looting during... all of act 2.

Someone on reddit used the barrel to get into doctor's house. You can place one pyramid inside and it gets teleported as well. You can use this way if you are having problems getting past doctor's doors.
