It already came up in the previous post of Warhammer (Click here) where we talked about the different combat modes that were mentioned by Lar in the last Press release. So maybe a clean post on this subject is advisable because a lot of people seem to wonder what Lar is talking about (including me). Could you specify what the difference is between Tactical, Hardcore and Action?

PS : thanks for listening to the Forum-members, that is really cool!!

Maybe hardcore is related to the hardcore mode of Diablo.
Death = end of game, no reload.

Action : maybe more like DD was ?!

Tactical : like BD was ( cf demo )

Very easy = virtually hack & slash
Action = between Very easy and Tactical, most monsters can be killed realtime
Tactical = initial level (like in the demo)
Hardcore = For those with suicidal tendencies)

This only applies to common monster. Boss monsters will still be hard to kill <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Do you know this, or is it your guess?

He kind of translated it from something I said on another forum, and it's about right.

Tactical = the way the game is balanced.

Choosing an easier or harder setting means every enemy is still there, he will still use his AI, but he will be easier/harder to kill.

aha! Thanks that makes it quite clear. Maybe one more question : will hardcore give you more XP? I guess the opponents will be of higher level and thus make you gain more XP...that would be a major drive to go suicidal.

I don't think that'll be the case though.. because then you're damn high of level later on and you almost get invincible

Hm, no, 'cause that would unbalance the game as it is now...
