Die after the ship fight? Are they all not godwokens? It sounds stupid malady don't save those unselected. I currently postpone 20+ hours tactician because some story elements gone because of this decision. They should has lived and do their own thing.

Without a player to guide them, there is no way for them to reasonably "do their own thing". There's only so much that can be accounted for with writing, etc.

A lot of godwoken die in the story and you meet a crap ton of them.

So the origin characters really don't deserve a plot shield just because we can recruit them. Malady even ask for us to protect her in the first place before she can even protect us. Just assume those die along with the meteor shower that instakill all the seekers. No one can survive a 3-source spell at level 8 unless they cheat.
