First of all, let me just say congratulations on making the best RPG ever, I'm totally addicted and enjoying the game SO much.

I thought I should bring this map issue up because I haven't seen it mentioned on the forums.

The Reaper's Coast map included in the Divine Ascension DLC doesn't correspond with the in-game map.

The North is actually pointing West: This was boggling me for a while because in the DLC map there is nothing West of Driftwood except ocean, but in the game you actually have to travel west for quite a bit until you reach Reaper's Bluff and the coastline. To illustrate the problem better I took some screenshots of the differences between the in-game map and the companion map.

This is a screenshot from the game with my party facing direcly North. As you can see Bloodmoon Island is almost direcly North of Driftwood, a little bith Northwest. Reaper's Bluffs is West-Southwest of Driftwood, Ryker's Rest is East and Paradise Downs to the Northeast of Driftwood:

This is a full map of Reaper's Coast where you can see the geography better:

And this is the map included in the DLC. As you can see, the North arrow is pointing West:

This is the way the map should be rotated in order to match what we see in the game's map, as you can see if you rotate the image 90 degrees counter clock-wise it actually matches the actual location of places in the game now with Bloodmoon Island North-Northwest of Driftwood, Reaper's Bluffs to the West-Southwest of Driftwood, and Paradise Downs to the Northeast of Driftwood .

Hope this was helpful and clear and you can correct this in the future! It's very confusing if one tries to navigate using the companion map as it is right now.

Best.

I think I've seen Fort Joy with three different norths to date. Rivellon's mapping has always been, erm, cartographically imprecise, in spite of a number of us trying to figure out its geography.

P.S. Admin; you locked my thread in the general forums reporting this error.
Help me get the word out to the devs instead?

Please don't bump. I'm sure they are or will become aware of it, though I suspect it was probably a design decision at some point. Rivellonean maps can be a bit... vague.

Vague is one thing. A map having different cardinal directions than the map in the game is another. Note that the game's map is fine. The problem is the map included in the DLC.
It's a shame because it's such a nice map I was even considering printing it and framing it but I'm holding out until they release the fixed version.

I'm baffled they haven't fixed it yet or posted anything about it.

Twitter time I guess.

I think (though my memory may be off) that the original alphas had the north marker at a 45⁰ angle and as a result the directions were a bit confusing: if that was the case I would imagine someone took the executive decision to move north to a more obvious direction.

As it is, I agree that having the physical map effectively rotated 90⁰ is confusing and as someone who's tried to figure out how to piece together the various bits of Rivellon it's not terribly helpful, but also not especially unexpected!

You may also find this topic interesting, a speculative map of Rivellon that we tried to figure out prior to OS2's release. RenWex's sketches are particularly interesting: I should really give him a nag to see what he makes of the new information.
