Will we be able to import and implement more head and hair options?
How are the facial animations handled? Are they morphs or bones?

Being able to select only set head meshes with zero tweaking feels very last decade to me so I hope to remedy that with external modelling.

From what I know, no. At least no for the moment.
I know that you can import from other games or create in a 3d packeges static assets like a fence, a trunk, or a stump, but everything that requires animation is a bit tricky, the game uses the same animation system that WoW (Granny3d) and it's propietary software with their own format (.GR2) so we won't be able to tweak animations, attach helmets or hairstyles to the proper skeletalbones, nor create our own monsters/animated objects.
At least not for the moment, the Wiki says they are working on a Maya exporter, but I don't know if that implies getting things into maya and being able to change them back, or if it's just an exporter from Maya to the type of files the engine uses, and if that format would accept animation like FBX... Lots of things we don't know yet.

It is definitely possible to make custom head/hair options or character models.
(How else would we have done it smile )

But there's a required exporter and several naming conventions for bones needed and we are currently preparing that information. You can see an example of that in the Weapon Guide. We hope to get you all the needed information in the near future. smile

Thanks, I think we all look forward to it. It seems characters do not move their mouth or face during dialogue? That would make custom heads very simple once the exporter works.

Interesting, all the heads are animated and lip synced during the character intros, they just aren't used in game.

Does this mean it's not possible to edit current faces at the moment?
