So I just got to act two and I am finding my char a bit lack luster in the dmg dept and its making things a bit of a pain.
I can respec now but i cant really afford to buy all the books to do it etc.

Currently, I have the following going at lvl 10:

Str 10
Finesse 10
Int 22
Constitution 15
Memory 17
Wits 12

Necro 5
Summoning 8

The main abilities I am using is Bone Widow/Incarnate Pets with ele totems. The using mos bite to dmg and heal and also infect etc

I was speaking with ppl on here and reddit about a possible warfare necro build but i could not work out if i should put points into int or str etc

At this point I almost feel like starting again as its not fun taking this long to kill things =C

Any guidance is much appreciated.

EDIT: I am playing Fane at the moment

you need that 10 points into summoning for your incarnates to become champions. They will be much stronger then.

other than that you should probably focus on buff skills for the incarnate and build yourself as tanky as can be.

1 point in fire gives your clear mind and haste - 3 points grant you access to firebrand - which is a fire damage aura that boost your own damage. your sumons damage and your totems damage.

necro i would only level far enough to give death wish and living on the edge.

infusions are super important for you rincarnate (50% more damage)

if that won't be enough damage for you then you probably need to work on your attitude :P

a little warning though: apparently summons become very weak at lvl 20 - but I haven't tried tbh

I also have to ask this. do you solo without lone wolf? that might your biggest problem ~_~

Should i switch to a different spec? I had this idea of Fane as this undead master of necro idea but wondering if I should try him as melee instead?

My trouble is I feel like i need to have necro to heal him as hes undead but then i get confused on what stats to get as people say spliting between int and str is bad and to focus on one?

Dont worry Im not expecting to do as much dmg as say a rogue or ranger but at mo i seemed lacking and was worried for when i face harder opponents.

So would you say I should stick with it? I am in a party of 4 at the moment, once i get through this play through i was thingking of trying solo with a ranger.

If I stick with the summons and necro which stats do i focuse on INT and Con?

Also if melee build do i just focus on int and use a mage staff for fighting? or go the str route with warfare and a lil bit of necro.

My first time polaying this sort of game and its amazing but a bit overwhelming with what stats to get etc.

for summons keep int as low as gear requirements demand. At lvl 21 it's still 14 - don't know if it goes higher later.
level con and wits. constitution for the obvious vitality boost :P.
wits so you start first but also so you can utilize savage sortile talent to scale into late game I don't think mage works without it. you should also focus on wit and crit% on equipment. the more sockets your amulet the better - fire runes :P while 14 int seems low you can put power frames on your fire runes to boost it up to 30 even. on the nameless island you will meet a master who can also trade in 5 of your finesse i think for 5 int (don't quote me on that one - it could be another stat).

you should stick however with what you want :P. summoner is a great party support. damage support through summon, firebrand damage aura if you pick it up in fire tree. soul mate and rally make for great healing support, 4 in necro allows you to revive your party members with last rites - if you combine that with shackles of pain and you deal a critical strike you can deal insane damage when ressurrecting a fallen ally(I advice using living on the edge beforehand =D).

necro / warfare is physical focused. so you would probably pick up a normal melee weapon. necro damage is bad. very bad. approx 50% of what other mage schools offer in raw damage. reason for that is probably enemies not having physical resist, so necro is never situational and very reliable.
still you would want more points into strength but some int won't hurt. widdle down enemy armor with melee skills then debuff with decaying touch etc.
necro warrior you can think of as a berserker. High lifesteal allows for more damage and less con. Later on you become tryndamere with living on the edge and death wish.
