Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 - The Modding Dungeon Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Modding Troubleshooting Friend can't connect to my server after "modding"?

Hi. I'm not sure if what I did qualifies as modding or not but it's causing an issue with me and my friend and I'm curious if anyone has a solution.
So my friend and I are playing together and we didn't really like the Memory stat so I extracted one of the games .Pak files and changed a value for the base Memory stat and it worked perfectly! I have a base of 60 skill slots now.

The problem is, now that I've done this I get an error every time I start up them game (picture below), and my friend can't see my server anymore or use direct connect. Does anyone know a way to get rid of the error or to allow him to somehow connect to my game anyways?

Not sure *edit* (it's probably because when you edited the .pak you didnt repack as mod and send to your friend correctly), I would validate files in Steam and see if that corrects the error. Also, if thats all you want to do you should probably just use a memory editor like Cheat Engine to change the memory points instead of messing with the game files.
