So I managed to lose the obsidian dagger somewhere on act 2. Been looking for hours but haven't been able to find it. This means that I have to move unto act 3 without the source vampirism skill and by not having that I can pretty much count out the source dependant skill as part of most if not all fights.

So my question then is simply, is it possible to complete the game withouth the source vampirism skill? Or should I just uninstall the game right now?

You want to uninstall the game? Uninstall it immediately. You know you want to.

But you can complete it if you want - there are still source fountains. You'll probably miss out on the villain tag but that doesn't matter really.

I really don't want to. But neither do I want to throw out the last 40+ hours and start over because I lost one item among the hundreds that constantly crowd my backpack.

Spoilers contained: Names of locations.

On the nameless island, I believe there's a section of the academy that will teach you source vampirism and spirit vision if you don't have them already.

Sorry but... can you even finish the main quest without completing the third vision?

I solved the problem by making a "mod". I simply placed the obsidian lancet on the ground in Driftwood using the editor. Loaded up the mod in the main menu and just picked it up in game. Problem solved, vision completed and away I go : )

I think Larian should help out those blokes who lose that dagger by putting it in Siva's inventory to purchase and making it reapawn there on a usual trader basis.

But seems like as said above you can proceed anyway. Uninstalling game over such things? lol, it ain't WoW here buddy and these fits won't impress anyone.

There is like a gazillion ways to solve almost every situation in this game, especially earlier chapters. Really it's only Arx where you start getting this "do this or go screw yourself" quests.
