Not sure if having a controller changes things, but on PC with KB/M, on the head inventory slot, there's a little checkmark in the lower right-hand corner. Check it to show the helmet, uncheck it to hide it.

Does this help?

I have been wondering the same thing. I mean why pick out a hairstyle and face if your just going to cover it up wink

I just tried to figure it out with my controller and it didn't work, but when I switched to keyboard, then hid the helm, then switched back to controller it was hidden.

If anyone knows how to do it on controller that would be awesome, if not hopefully they will add the option to in the future.

It's quite amusing being able to wear a bucket for a helmet for a while, but the novelty wears off, and I've had the hidden checkbox ticked pretty much the whole way through the game. I'm not generally a fan of visible helmets, though part of me feels tempted to install this FO4 mod once I'm done with OS2.

I'm sooo grateful for Larian to offer the option (in principle, my heart goes out to console*cough*peas... I mean console friends... friends! who don't get it) to switch helmets off. I'm the same, I usually spend hours in the character creator to make my character just the way I want her and then the game forces me to wear some bucket on the head. I want to see that flaming red hair, combat realism be damned! smile

@thread creator, can you at least plug in KB/M for a little while so you can set the flag?

In general, I am so spoilt by transmogrification systems though that I can hardly cope these days if games don't offer it or at least a way to mod pretty armors in. I often spend more time on finding just the perfect outfit for whatever occasion than on playing the game itself! (The fond memories I have of my undead mage running around in WoW with that tiny fairy wand and the little shutter lamp. Or that incredibly slick assassin armor in Skyrim... sigh.)

also @Vometia: Did I not hate FO4 for its storytelling (well... or what they try to pass for it), I'd be so tempted to install it again just for that mod. For about 5 minutes xD

I always have problems with making helmets invisible as a helmet is the most important piece of armor by far and only very stupid, inexperienced persons or Hollywood stars would go without in a real combat. So I don't use the toggle.

However, it's a game and many helmets really look strange or distorted (a lot are too small) in DOS2 (only like the most of the elves helmets) so it's a good feature you can get rid of them visually. grin

I'm reminded of some friends back when we were students who had a summer job on a building site. The hard hats were supposedly "unavailable" so they turned up wearing cardboard Burger King crowns. I don't think the site foreman was particularly impressed.
