Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems Constant crashes towards end of Act 1.

I'm playing the GOG version, through GOG Galaxy.
Playing on Windows 10, with a Core i5 2500k CPU, a Nvidia GTX970 GPU, with 8gb ram.

Installed version of the game is 3.0.143.324.

I played act 1 for 12h, and I've gotten choice to board the boat. If I accept and click through the lines of dialogues that follow, the game crashes when it starts to load.

If I load any save from that that I entered the hall of echoes and after, I cannot after that load again, without the game crashing.

I can load previous save, play, and load other previous saves.

I have tried to reboot the computer. That didn't help.
And after that I have also completely reinstalled the game through GOG Galaxy, which didn't help either.

I have sent several reports after crashes, through the form that follows after a crash.

Edit: The one thing I can think of that's related, is that I did the update of the game yesterday. But I sure hope that it does not mean that it has corrupted my saves, because I'm not replaying too much of this game because of technical errors.

Seems like lots of people are getting various "crash on loading" issues that only appear after some point in the story. I have a similar issue to yours except that it hasn't prevented me from progressing in the story. I just can't load a save more than twice during one instance. Essentially every time I want to reload after screwing something up, I have to restart the game.

I've tried every damn suggestion I could find on the internet. Neither well-known or relatively obscure suggestions have been of any help.

Don't feel like this issue won't be addressed - I have to imagine that game crashes are pretty high priority on the bug-fix list for the devs (especially considering how many people are experiencing crashes of a similar sort). You're welcome to continue trying to get things to work but something is very clearly wrong with the game itself. Hopefully the next patch will sort some of this stuff out.

I've been in contact with support, and they have confirmed the bug, but there's no ETA on the fix as far as I understood.

The last hotfix patch had a fix in the changelog that I thought would help (Fixed a crash that could happen when loading game or returning to main menu (destroying AiGrid)), but the error still occurs for me.

I appreciate that their support and devs are working on it, but after not being able to play the game for several weeks, my interest in the title is vaining. Might try a refund request to GOG later on.
