After snuffing out all the candles during Lohse's quest arc and proceeding to fight Ahdramalik (who had turned into demon form at this point), I went ahead and quicksaved in the middle of the fight because I wasn't sure about how my chain lightning scroll would interact with the positions of enemies. Cast it and found it hadn't worked as I would have liked and then decided to save scum and once I had reloaded, Ahdramalik had gone from scary demon with 17k hp and however much armor and had reverted to pre-transformation Doctor hp pool (3kish) to which I promptly shield tossed him and killed him.
