First and foremost: I absolutely love the game!!

As it is now most NPCs remain an attitude of 0-10, no matter how I get along with them.

What would be cool is if the attitude system was more relevant and dynamic. Basically every time I choose an impactful dialogue option it should raise or lower the NPC's attitude towards me.

That would be an awesome thing. It would make dialogue decisions even more interesting and it would bring this game even closer to a pen & paper RPG experience.

How far along in the game are you?

Attitudes with most of my companions reached 100 some time in late Driftwood. I haven't quite understood how it works though, if anybody can shed some light on this it'd be appreciated. It can't just be the 'OK Ifan, go ahead and talk with your dwarf buddy, I'll wait around' --> +25 attitude triggers.

I'm in Act II, but what I'm refering to is the Merchants and NPCs, not the companions. I should have made that clearer.

For instance if I am rude to a merchant and he doesn't like my tone, it would be fun if his attitude would decrease, instead of remaining the same. Or for instance the dwarf in Fort Joy knows Lohse and they get along very well,
he even gives her a present
, so it would only make sense if his attitude would be higher towards Lohse than towards the other characters.

Pretty much the same mechanic that is already in the game when you attack an NPC (I believe in that case the attitude drops by 20) could be implemented in dialogue, just not that extreme.
