I brought a whole party to the end of Reaper's coast and suddenly notice I'm no longer able to talk to animals. I looked at my perks and notice the Pet Pal is gone. Without any other perk replacing it. I'm down to three when it should be four.

which quests have you done in reapers coast?

Most. Not all. I don't remember every single one. But the mill with the elf seer, Paradise down, Bloodmoon island, Mordus, the Princess. A lot more.

*SPOILER* You probably gained Source with Hannag help, she kills animals in near forest for their source power to empower you. If you gain source point from Hannag you're losing pet pal perk.

I didn't go through this, but are you serious? Like do they give you a warning before hand? Or is this a bug?

it's not a bug, it's a legitimate byproduct of the quest

that's why i asked because this is the quest that does it

She tells you about it that animal will just be purged for you if you choose to accept it.

It's like the whole thing with eating the void-tainted heart in the dwarf cave.
