Hey there--one of my favorite parts of DOS 1 was the crafting.

But now, I mix things with pixie dust...and nothing! can't add fire, water, or earth damage to my weapons and cant' make magical rings/necklaces--anything in fact.

Some people are saying it's bugged right now--am I missing something?

You use dust for creating runes for runeable gear, not for enchanting.

You didn't use dust for enchanting in Original Sin 1 either.

Here is a link to everything you can do with crafting, easily filterable.

Crafting is kind of silly in this game; found it weird and challenging to really make use of it without using the Internet for the recipes. Especially the recipes that were actually useful.

What were they then?

I loved crafting and boosting weapons/armor in DOSEE. There is no point doing it in this game as you level up too fast.

Perhaps money should be tighter - but then you'd spend even less time on the story.

Perhaps the massive increase between levels could be reduced a bit - I don't know.

I loved crafting and now it is pointless and that is a real shame.

Yeah I agree---crafting doesn't seem to be too integral to this game. I found the last one to be superior for sure. I liked tweaking all my gear with different materials, while now it's been reduced to installing runes on slots?

In the last one, all of my gear I made myself. In this one, I don't make ANY armor or weapons (except add poison) because the purchased weapons are far, far, endlessly, better. They don't even have a crafting skill anymore! I was so bummed out when I realized that crafting was so unimportant that no skill allocation is required at all--it leaves out a sense of discovery when putting a new point into the skill.

I used to really enjoy sharpening, enchanting, then selling for extra money--just to be efficient, or just exploring the different effects that items had on armor and weapons.

Lx07,

totally agree on the leveling--it's too fast and I feel I get super-powered even in 1 level change. Being 2 levels higher than the enemy turns you into a god and the fights are trivial. I go brush my teeth--I level up and become a god. Mind you, fights are always challenging, but the pacing feels very weird.

In this game (I'm 15 now)---not long after I left fort joy I'm super rich. I can steal something like 20,000 gold from each vendor, but I don't really even need to do that.

Crafting does seem lacking (and in some cases, broken). However I thought that crafting in D:OS EE it was too powerful. Making my own weapons because they were miles ahead of anything that could drop took the fun out of finding a powerful magic item. It was also too easy to make insane amounts of money with crafting.

I wish they had struck a better balance between D:OS EE and what we have now.
