Just finished off 'A Taste of Freedom', and I
chose the method where I let him live twice, then during the third encounter, I "allow him to live" but attacked him immediately after he spawned the loot chest so as to get his loot plus the cache. Afterwards, I found an item on him which I can't identify using the mouse cursor. No tooltip comes up at all, and I was unable to pick it up using the character which I looted the body with. To even get it into my inventory, I had to right-click and Send To another character (Ifan, in this case).
The item tooltip looks like this: https://imgur.com/iWwyEBl

Any idea what this is, or what it does? Anyone else get this same issue? I'm wondering if it was caused by
the unorthodox method of finishing the quest; ostensibly letting him live, but killing him after choosing all the 'live' dialog options. Is the item present when you announce your intent to kill him as well?
.

Thanks very much.

That icon is for a phylactery - you get some in Act 1 that hold the Souls of various necromancers. You can open it (which kills them) or consume the source. I assume that's what it's suppose to be but perhaps it's bugged.

Huh, odd. Yeah, if that's what it is, it's definitely bugged. I can't interact with it in any way (other than I assume, dropping it, which I haven't tried). Probably a side-effect of the way I finished the quest. Thanks for the ID!
