A few minutes ago I interrupted playing to take care of my dinner. I came back to resume playing only to find that I suddenly need an update to do so. Problem is, I recently moved to a new appartment and I am accessing internet right now through my mobile phones plan's limited bandwith. The steam updater tells me he will need something between 9-23 days to load the update. You can't be serious. I can't even cut the internet connection altogether and just resume playing because now the updater won't let me. Any idea how to bypass this?

Once update has started, game files will have been partially modified, so you won't be able to play or revert without a backup. STEAM wasn't designed with mobile data plans in mind, so if you don't want potentially huge updates which are common on STEAM, you will have to use it in offline mode, and one of the requirements of offline mode is that it has to be enabled after the updates finish.

So I will have to wait resuming the game for however long it takes to donwload the update? How big is the current one?

4.3GB I believe.
