Greetings, all!

For best shop prices, boost Persuade or Barter - assuming we only boost one?

Barter, I don't believe Persuade does ANYTHING towards lowering shop prices.

If Persuasion still influences Attitude is should lower prices. But honestly I did not test since they changed it, but in EA it still lowered the prices, but much less than Barter anyway.

Attitude lowers prices BUT you can increase a vendors attitude by giving them shit. Depending on I think the vendors level, you can give them a few hundred to a few thousand gold and permanently max their attitude (for the character who talked to them). That combined with high Barter can achieve roughly a 50% discount. I don't know how much it does for sale prices, but it's worth doing on any vendor you intend to visit more than once.

I have 2 Characters with the same level in Barter and Persuade and the Barter Guy gets a higher discount. A combination would be perfect :)

attitude doesn't do much of anything for lowering prices in comparison to bartering. attitude can also be raised fairly easily by giving away low cost items, which is good for game-long merchants like tarquin and gareth

if you want to be economic definitely have a character putting points into bartering

You must be really buying a lot from a trade to make gifting to him for attitude worthwile on the long run.

that's just not true

a few hundred gold worth of "pretty but useless" items will net you a ton of attitude

like i said, it's good for traders you will (or can, anyway) have access to over several acts, like tarquin or gareth. attitude isn't effective enough for price reduction for this to be worth it for temporary traders. for the most part, bartering is all that matters
