I've played around with DD, and now I'm going to invest the time into this cool game. What is the replay value? It's a big mark in my book (D2 is permanent on my HD as are some favorite roguelikes because of the replay value; Morrowind is the best replay game I've purchased for the Xbox). It seems like the plot and quests will be linear and the areas the same (not randomly generated). Replaying the game may require different styles, but if the quests are the same, et al., is it really worth it?

It depends on your style and tolerances. If you are very methodical and do everything the first time around, then the replay value would be less. I re-started the game a little while after completing it (the only time I have done so for an RPG without more than a year going by), though did not finish it again. Some people have completed it multiple times, or even dozens of times.
Personally, if there are only simplistic quests and little plot (D2, what I played of the Sacred demo), then randomly generated areas are not going to make it any more replayable.

true, the replay value is higher than most games imho, but it's still subjective. I want to replay it again, but I don't have the time to finish it a 2nd time. I did start a 2nd time though and it still was fun

Thanks! D2 is really replayable for me because of the items and unique drops. Prince of Qin had item modification, too. With the choice of skills in DD, it seems like a good replayable game. I'm in!

in reference to re-play value:

Look into motormann's Divine Divinity Ultimate Challenge thread (this forum, placed 18. Mar)

That should keep you busy from here to eternity! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
