Anyone know how to force root templates to use custom localization?

For example, I have a localization file where the key LAB_Glassware_B has the value Blah, but the display name in the game appears as Gen_Glass, which is the name of the associated Stats record.

How do I force the root template to use the localized name as the display name?

I still haven't been able to get my new strings to override the base strings.

You have to fill in the display name. You cannot override empty display names with something else, as the display name is the key that is used to look up the localised string. The stats name is a fallback in case there is no display name and in principle also works as key/value, but in case of the Gen_* stats they are never filled in (not sure where they should be filled in either).
