Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems Game crashed, now I can't load my profile???

So I had the game alt tabbed for a bit earlier and when I went to start playing it again it was frozen and I ended up having to ctrl/alt/del to close it out.

Upon re-opening the game it automatically created a "Debug profile" and signed me into that one. I could click on profiles and still see my main profile in there.

The problem is I can't select it! I click on it and then hit select and it simply returns me to the main screen still signed into the debug profile.

I have tried:
restarting steam

deleting the debug profile folder in documents>larian>dos2

Create a new profile, sign in to it (which works fine) and then deleting the debug profile, this works fine. Then when I try to select between my new profile and my main one? It puts me back into a dubug profile!

Really pulling my hair out here, I was about 80 hours into a game and wanted to play some more tonight .

Having this same issue with my wife's account and when I invite her to game no bows show on her or vendors. They show as broken weapons instead keeping us from playing together.

Nope no mods.

I figured out how to fix it though.

Go to documents>larian folder and rename the Divinity Original Sin 2 folder, also go inside the folder to the profiles folder and delete the "debug profile."

Start the game up, this will cause it to make a new folder named divinity original sin 2 when you start it and make one (or it may already have yours in there if you use the cloud).

After this simply quit the game and delete the newly made folder, and then take the one your renamed and name it back to the original name.

After this it should no longer have a debug profile attached to it anymore.
