Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - General Could I have saved *spoiler* at *another spoiler*?

Obvious spoilers here.

So I just finished Act 1, got on the ship and started doing this and that, gathered my party, convinced the ship to do its thing.

Then a warning "dangerous stuff ahead, did you chose your companions, you might not be able to chose later on" or something to that effect. Obviously we got into a huge fight with Dallis and had to protect Malady from the bad guys and so on, it all went pretty ok I guess. After the fight I (Lohse) woke up in this blocky world. I checked my Journal and read that Sebille had died on that ship during the fight.

She and Beast were not in my party, but only her quest line was marked as closed because she died.

Does that mean I somehow fucked up / had bad luck? Could I have saved her? I mean she was nude (for reasons I don't whish to elaborate..) when the fight started so she might not have had all the armor needed to survive

I don't think that you can save anyone from Meteor Shower on that ship. Only your companions, Malady and Gareth survives

On my last run 3-4 guys survived and were running all over the ship, several of them died due burning
And then Dallis dropped second "The Reckoning"...
nothing changed, no matter who survives - their role is minor.

oh ok that means I def won't be able to get Sebille to join my party later on? Too bad, I was kinda hoping I could rearrange the party later on as needed.

I was surprised that they kill off all the other companions, I guess it's to avoid an excess of Godwoken. But surely they could find a way around that. Feels wrong to get the best pair of daggers you've ever seen just to trash them, because you have no B-team with a rogue.

Just out of interest, does Fane die at that bit? I played as Fane in my game so don't know.

every potential party member not in your immediate party dies, as well as everyone else who is not malady/gareth/tarquin/almira/han

which is a little annoying, because inexplicably during the confrontation with dallis some of the seekers weren't hit by the initial meteor shower, and survived the fight. nevertheless, everyone in the aforementioned group was dead by the time we got to reapers coast
