The combat in Divinity has a lot of potential and i would hate to see it wasted on how the current pvp system works.
The arena is more of a place for friends to compete for a quick battle with set gladiators, and I have to say that it gets kinda dull after a while.

What if arena mode came with matchmaking and lvling for a character that you created yourself (much like they do in league og legends). You would create a character, lvl him up through battles and stat him the way YOU want to, (also making it possible to create multiple characters on the same account). Once you then reach lvl 20 you could begin to play ranked play, to show off your amazing skills with this amazing combat system.

I had also ideas of a shop where you could buy gear and maybe supplies for your charactor to use in battle, but that starts up a balancing issue. Maybe you could make an item lvl system that takes a avg. item lvl and ques you up with ppl of the same.

These are just ideas, they are not well thought through.
I would just love to see something futher done to the arena and pvp system.

Ranked play on arena will not happen, don't get your hopes up. It just isn't the focus of the game.

Same goes for the levelling up of the character and match making.


If Arena ever gets developed we will get something much simpler, like pick character level, get X attribute points, Y skill points and choose from a list of items and skills.

I highly doubt it will go too much further from that. Mods could improve a little bit more on it, but not create systems for ranked play and account levelling up.


Furthermore, consider that this is mainly a Single Player or Coop Multiplayer game, preventing players from cheating is not currently something they have to enforce so...

You are completely right! All im saying is that if anything, it has the potential for it.

I guess it will be so, until someone will make a good mod where you can create any hero you like with certain limitations.
