Dear Larian Studios,

Thank you, Larian et al., for giving me one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if the team reads the forum messages, but in the fortuitous event that they (or my fellow Divines) stumble across this message, I would like to share my gratitude and optimism about Divinity 2.

First off, kudos for making a complete game, from start to finish. With so many companies choosing the anti-consumer tactics, I found it so damned refreshing to be given the whole package, and even for $15.00 less than the so-called "triple-A" titles. Great decision!

What really surprised me during my time in Rivellon was the amount of complexity in nearly every aspect. E.g., I changed my romantic decision because my first impressions of characters turned out to be wrong. I expected the companion personalities to be static (i.e., easily predictable); surprisingly, the characters evolved in dramatic fashion based on my decisions.

And you know, Larian, that's what I adore about your company. You make the world seem inviting and simple at first, then add layers of intricacy.

You continue to show passion for your work, and I would like to end by praising that. Thank you, all of the team, for sharing your story with us.

The question I have for you, fellow divinians, is what was your favorite moment in the game? (P.s., make sure to add a spoiler warning just in case! :welcome:)

For me, it was a failed exorcism, if you will, in Act 2. Hero tag: check. Rocks-on-sticks, check! "Now hold on ma'am, I'm just going to bring out your inner demon with this fireball...trust me, I'm a doctor in training." Me: Oh, shit, Lohse, she's dead! :claphands:

Agreed as well. Yes, there are bugs, yes, not all choices work out perfectly but at the end of the day what matters is the fun a game gives you and for me this game has delivered on that.

I'm still going through, this is the CRPG pinnacle point now for me. I can only hope for more and more.

The best parts I've had are simply the times when as I play I pause to think, "This is the best tabletop coop experience on a PC I've ever had, no question". The feeling of finding another hatch into a whole under-world of a few hours exploration... wish there were a lifetimes worth of them, but as-is, so many, so good.

The details are amazing, dialog choices are great, you can see many different ways to play alternate play-throughs well into the future and the in game audio from A to Z is impeccable, best I've witnessed, flawless.

As for the industry, it is strong. There is something for everyone, don't get stuck up too much on corporate gaming. If that isn't for you... you mentioned DOS2 and Cuphead, we have many answers. It's a gaming cornucopia out there now. Too much of a good thing.

Well said, Horrorscope. Reduced the rant about greedy corporations, as it was a bit off topic. Kinda reminded me of a Walter Sobchak (The Big Lebowski) moment: Walter, what the **** does anything have to do with Vietnam?!

Best of luck on your journey! I just started a second playthrough, this time with the 2 characters I put on the bench and doing everything the opposite way.

I mean, not only is it at least three times longer lasting gameplay than most triple-A games, I'm 110 hours in and, while close, still not fully done! Added another 200 hours in the divinity engine - The replay value on top of that is basically 110 hours*2.

I like this game, and have been annoyed by its bad bits (like save corruption), but have quite enjoyed its many good bits!

I bought this game 5ish times for self and friends so we could play together. Thanks for charging only $45 US per copy!

i could criticize the things about the game i don't like for paragraphs and it wouldn't change the fact that this is easily one of my all time favourite games

I am wholeheartedly joining in in the thanks. smile This is one of the best CRPGs in a long time in my mind without a shadow of doubt.

As for my favorite part of the game that would be companions (or origin stories) in general. I haven't cared this much about my companions in a CRPG since Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment. [COMPANION SPOILERS] Even though I was kinda disappointed they went with Bioware's "sex as a reward" approach to romance pay-off, aside from that part the romance with Sebille (the only one I tried so far) was written exceptionally well and was almost as good as the ones I remember fondly from BG 2
.
