Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - General Telekinesis/Barrelmancy - Tips?

I've heard stories and legends about adventurers who put paintings into barrels into metal crates etc., creating an item of immense weight and throwing it on the heads of opponents for devastating damage aka barrelmancy.

I've tried it in my last 4-5 fights. For starters, telekinesis is needed obviously. My skill is at 4 atm. I noticed that no item can be thrown exactly on the enemy. As I understand, it's enough to be inside his circle, right next to him, right? Secondly, I was only able to do it just once with a barrel. All the other times, the circle around the enemy wasn't enabled for a throw.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a quick tutorial for the secret art of barrelmancy?

You need to throw it pretty close to the enemie, probably best to let the object pass through the enemie, so throw it on the other side. Also you should use an indestructible chest, otherwise the chest will break into pieces pretty soon.
