Ok, I am playing originally released version on GOG from day of release.
I did not apply any patches because I learned from many games before that patching often breaks current saves, and I hate to play whole game from the beginng, especially large RPG games that take a lof of time.
I did not notice any major bugs until Arx.
I am currently at first part of the city (where Lord of paladins is located).

Execution.
Yes, I read a lot about this quest and problems.
I am not going to respec for persuade which I am not using for whole game, just because I do not like to solve quests with just choosing dialogue line.
So, it seems that only way is to fight paladins (after teleporting victim).
I used "examine" to check stats of the Lord, and "undead" info took my attention, so I started to suspect that something is not right here with him.
Using force means to slay many innocent paladins that believe they are doing good thing.
I read that later you will find out the true about this Lord.
My question is, if anyone here tried to discover true first?
What if I skip this execution (like I am doing it now by exploring and completing other quests), discover true about Lord, and back to execution location?
I guess it will be too late in this case?

Malady.
Ok, I went to black house to progress in Lohse quest.
I decided to not change state of candles, because like it was said, it would destroy souls totally, and they would not be able to even reach the "Hall".
This is strong enough reason for me that souls must surive, no matter how strong boss will be.
So, finally I finished him.
The problem is that Malady (no matter if near black house or on ship) is still saying that it needs to be done (no matter if I am talking by main character or Lohse as my party member).
Doctor quest is completed, there is also note about it in Lohse quest, but there are no other dialogue options when talking with Malady.
I remember that Malady told me that she will need my help in something later.
So, the question is, will I be able to help with her quest and even finish the game, while she currently did not progress with this one?
I am very interested in making Malady quest and finishing the game without playing the whole thing from the beginning.

It's one of the few quests that's on a timer: once it starts, you have a set amount of time to intervene otherwise the execution goes ahead, rather frustratingly.

I'm not sure how to get past the persuasion check: my main character wasn't able to pass the first one (but did the second) and she already has quite high persuasion; I tested it out by respeccing and still failed the first test, though I didn't do so particularly exhaustively.

Not sure about Malady's intervention in Lohse's quest: I suspect that one may have some wrinkles that still need to be ironed out.

Well, I had save, so since I noticed there is a problem with solving this quest, I did reload and went exploring and doing other quests in Arx.
So, quest was not started, and after doing other things (like secret of dwarves), I still can hear Lord talking with his victim.
I read that after I discover the truth about him, then I will face him.
In fact, before I was starting to read and after I went to do other things, I was hoping that I will find something that may help except persuade or force.
Now I wonder, what will happen if you do not start execution quest and discover the truth first.
I guess that developers did not predict such case, because Lord has primary red flag and is most close located when reaching Arx, so player should encounter him first and decide execution quest, before will go doing other things and discover something.

As about Malady, I hope it is like with Gareth.
I also did everything with Gareth family quest (talked with parents, found gloves, did revenge, got ring) and was not able to get new dialogue options, so he stayed digging and I moved to isle.
I was able to find him there.
So, I hope that when time will come, Malady will be able to talk with me about new things just like I would not complete doctor quests, because it was optional and I guess not related to main or her quest.
What is a name of the quest that Malady metioned she will need help?
Maybe I will focus on it now to see what will happen, before doing other.

the quest that malady needs help with does not appear in game, once you become divine she says that she will call on your help later. presumably they are using her to set up a expansion
