Hello dear Forum Members,

I really enjoyed Divinity so far, it has definitely become one of my favourite games, also, because I'm a proud owner of the Fane statue that decorates my living room now.

I have chosen Sebille as my main character and got immediately involved in her story line, it all felt pretty close to me.
But now I got to the point where i closed the game in anger. I came to the Nameless Island and decided to go to the East at the beginning, so I met the Shadow Prince before the Mother Tree, killed him and ate his heart. Now I'm confronted with the Mother, and somehow I can't arrange with both decisions... becoming the next Mother and disappoint Saheila with it or kill the Mother and feel the rage of the whole area.

Somehow both ways don't feel right to me, I don't want to fight my own kind, but I don't want to be the next suppressor either. I know that there would be other option if the Shadow Prince would be still alive... but he isn't for me.

So my question is: If i would kill the Mother and all the other traders/elves out there, will there be a satisfying story end for me? Is Saheila giving me some kind of absolution or is the quest just finished with this massacre and all of Sebilles story line gets closed?

Greetings, Fyannon

You don't have to fight them, you can just walk away.

Yeah like I did. I just left the tree be. When I walked out and Saheila was like you gotta kill it for me, I was like, naahhh. I just ignored her.

Lorewise, Sebille dislikes the Mother. She has no qualms about killing her/it. Killing the tree makes the whole area hostile, true, but it's not like Sebille ever was some sort of role model among the elves. I found it kinda fitting with the whole "rogue/outcast" image. She has always been the kin-slayer anyway.

But I decided to leave the tree alone cause I needed all the merchants. Item-hunting every level and all that.

Someone else wanted me to kill the tree, I can't remember who. They give you a deathfog crate. Was it the lizard guy? I don't remember, I think it was him. I just killed him on my 1st play through. He was shockingly easy, even on tactician.

Yeah, just walk away. You get to have your cake and eat it to. Just make sure you don't need to go shopping before leaving the island and you've reached the height of roleplay compromise.

I guess to spare her people that would turn against her she would just walk away, but she would never want to become the tree obviously. Mother tree is the ultimate slaver so I think Sebille could make the decision to kill it and free all the elves, even if they would hate it initially.

Saheila's a nutjob but she's right lol

I killed it, i mean it kinda makes sense if the Tree is pretty much enslaving the elfs and wants power too.

But if you don't like any of the choices, you can just leave and don't bother with it.
