Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Help/Tips/Tricks Mother Tree - how can it be killed?

I have Sebille in my party and right after (Shadow Prince is already killed) I hand the heart to the tree, Saheilla approaches and demands the tree to be killed.

We fight all the guardians down there, but there's no option to finish the job. When clicking on the heart, it simply says, this is the heart of the Mother Tree and only gives the option to turn away. Right klicking attack doesn't do any damage.

So what gives, since I obviously don't have the deathfog bomb.

Try an aoe spell? go to it without Sebille in your group(keep her far back so she doesn't ask to talk, and then fight everyone? There are so many ways to go about that quest I wouldn't be surprised if it bugs out.

Sebille already talked to the guardian. When we come up again, Saheila demands the tree to be killked. We go there, fight everyone defending it and still there's no option to damage the heart. Nothing does anything. AOEs included.

It's bugged because you should be able to kill via simply talking to it. Try loading a previous save->making new save there->exit the game->start the game and load created save
