After an epic battle to save Gwydian, I got a message in my journal that he was saved. He seemed to have other ideas, being unwilling to depart the area until the last fire voidling was defeated. I sacrificed my whole crew and a lot of my supplies trying to save him, but he finally died. I saw a popup that the quest had updated, but now when I look in the log there is no mention of the quest, even when I check the box at the bottom. This is unlike a few previous occasions when he died earlier in the battle. The battle is clearly over but I'm not sure if I need to do it over or just move on.

After I posted the above, and after reloading the game, I verified that "On the Ropes" remained missing from my journal and that Gwydian's loot-able corpse was on the ground where he fell. Then I reloaded an earlier save and tried an exploit: I stashed my crew in the nearby basement and went up solo to beard the evil magister at the scaffold. As soon as Gwydian got loose, I ran to the edge of the platform and teleported myself down to the area near the cellar door. On the next turn, I ducked down the cellar hatch and up the ladder on the other side. I then emerged from that house and went to visit Hannag, who thanked me warmly and rewarded me with another source slot. C'est la guerre! hehe

After I came back and cleared the area, I found the loot-able corpse of Gwydian lying atop the scaffolding, about where I left him. So it looks like a real exploit to me!
