Hey guys.

I've been reading around, trying to figure out what is wrong.
When I start the game, it immediatly minimize, and every time I try to maximize it, I get a black screen for a short while, and then the game is minimized again.

The game is loading in the background (I can see the progress on the small icon on the taskbar), and I hear sound. I can even see the screen image of the game while hovering over the icon.

This happens when I try to start the game in Steam Big Picture mode, or when I have a steam controller connected. If I disconnect the controller and stay in the "normal" mode, I can start the game normally. If i connect the steam controller while playing, it doesn't break anything. I can also launch the game from the EoCApp.exe, when the controller is connected.

I've tried reinstalling and checked drivers and such. Nothing helped.

As I said in the beginning, I've been looking around for a solution or someone having a similar problem, but I haven't been able to find it. So does anyone know how to fix this or something? Or if it is a bug at my end, or something with the game, that I can't fix?

Did this ever get answered? I'm experiencing the exact same issue, and it started for me the day I first connected a steam link and controller... the game had been running fine for about 2 weeks prior to connecting them.

One thing I'll add to this problem: I've tried completely removing both the Steam Controller and Link from the equation, but it still minimizes on launch. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but that also didn't work.

Same problem here. After i minimized game i cant maximize it. So only option is kill game process and loose all progress. Problem appears only with big picture mode.

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game? TeamViewer, for example, has been known to cause a similar problem, at startup (with various games), when running in the background.

When the game is minimized, can you right click on the Task Bar button and select Maximize or Restore?

Try starting the Task Manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc or right click an open area of the Task Bar), switch to the Applications tab, then try right clicking and select the Switch To / Bring To Front / Minimize / Maximize options.

Try disabling the Steam Overlay for the game (right click the game in the Steam library and select Properties, then switch to the General tab).

In the graphics options, try switching to Fake Fullscreen display mode, to see if that will make a difference (can help with issues Alt-Tabbing out of games, as well as problems a couple people have had running D:OS 2 in Steam Link or BPM after recent Windows updates).
