I have a level 7 party with source ability unlocked. I have the Purging Wand from Radeka which is suppose to kill them (I do not have Source Vampirism). The problem is I can't get remotely close to them to use the wand without dying instantly. I tried to transport a dead party member to get past it but again, I could not get close enough before being seen and instantly dying. I love this game, but I am totally stuck and can't progress. Any suggestions?

The range of the spell the wand gives you should have a longer range than the shriekers to hit you. Upon equipping the wand you get a new spell. You need to use that spell on the shrieker, not auto-attack the shrieker with the wand.

Just use shift to see how far their line of sight goes, go to the edge of that and use Purge. (It reaches even further than that.)

Press C and enter sneak mode - then you can see in red how close you can go. If you are outside the red area then they can't see you. If you go to the edge of the red then you'll be able to get them.

This is how to kill them. Not sure it warrants spoilers but you never know.

Thanks for the replies but I think I'm still missing something. I was able to get within range with my Purging Wand but the attacks had no effect. I used the spell "Purge" which I get when I equip the wand, then attacked with the wand and it still had no effect on them.

You have to click purge and then the man hanging on the pole. It should look like a long greenish beam cast if you do it right
