Please remove this feature, or at least give us the option to disable it. It gets really annoying, really fast.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this annoying as all get out. Seems to make the sound when I loot gold and gear but not junk like rocks. Please let us turn this sound off or get rid of it all together.

I agree, very annoying sound. Wish it wasn't so sharp to the ears.

It's frustrating because instead of doing something about the well-known NPC verbal diarrhea problem, Larian's audio guys decided "hey you know what's missing? A random dinging sound when looting things".

Nobody asked for that. You didn't see lots of posts complaining about a lack of random dinging sounds in the game.

At least make it OPTIONAL (toggleable).

Oh, I thought it was a mod. Yeah, the sound is annoying as hell.

Found a MOD that claims it will do it but can't figure out how to install on my steam version of the game. File is a wem file but all I see in my steam directory are pak files. Any ideas how to install this? Link here: https://www.nexusmods.com/divinityoriginalsin2/mods/221/?

Extract it to: Data\Public\Shared\Assets\Sound

That folder does not exist on my drive. I have C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\Data

Then in that folder I have folders Editor, Localization, Projects, Sound then a number of *.pak files. One is shared.pak

Is there an editor I need to use for the *.pak files?

Create the folder.

Since mods disable achievements, it's not an option.

If it's that bothersome, I agree to letting us toggle this.

This sound was haunting my nightmares until I found that mod that fixed it. Not sure if it even is a feature but just an incorrect sound playing.

There's a mod on the Nexus that enables achievements with mods.
