So, booted up a Nameless Isle save with the new patch. Quit shortly after because my buddy did not want to play his summoner without summoning, and his mage without skillbars. BUT, one thing stood out to me: Source Vampirism range has gotten a nerf, around 50%.

No biggie, until I tried to get into the temple on the Nameless Isle which is protected by shriekers; their aoe is roughly the entire field in front of the entrance, minus a very tiny area that requires sneak w\ cloak and dagger to approach. Now this is a far cry from my previous experience with them of just sapping them from range and flipping them the bird while doing it, and now it seems the only immiediate way of dealing with them is a rogue with two mobility skills or a high sneak skill.

Intended? Alternative way to solve? Or more interestingly; anyone getting close to a shrieker area in Fort Joy, or the Black Pits and can report how it is? Unless I'm not aware of a few things related to dealing with them it seems to me shriekers got a whole deal more annoying, and possibly broken.

Thoughts? In-game reports? Wild accusations?

TL;DR- New SV range renders some shriekers so difficult to deal with it might actually be an oversight. What's up with that?

Source Vampirism never had a lot of range.
If you don't want to use invisibility you gota use Purging wands. (There's a lot of them on nameless.)

It had a lot more range than it currently does, sufficient range to deal with shriekers with minimal effort. Not longer than their frontal range, but long enough that you could get attack them from their peripheral.

I suppose it is possible that the range reduction is to encourage purging wand usage, but I'm not entirely convinced, as this method is rejected entirely throughout Reaper's Coast. Would seem a strange and radical turn in direction.
