Greetings, all! Does there yet exist for public consumption a guide that details all relevant steps to maximize EXP gain for a playthrough? I'm curious what level we could reach with such a method. 23? 24? Other?

Highest possible is 24, but you can 'technically' level up to 99.

That's only feasible (probably) by literally murdering everything and completing every action that gives XP. If you really try to earn the phat XP, you typically reach 21 or so on an average playthrough, but 24 is probably the highest you'll be able to reach.

Maybe I'll complete every quest and murder everything that I can get away with and see if I can get higher. All those paladins in Arx are probably delicious amounts of XP.

Level 99? The level cap is at level 36, any more XP will put you back at level 1. Well, at least that's how it works in the editor. I guess you can remove the cap via mods, but I can remember a dev saying that the cap was initially at level 50 and that already broke the game. Probably since HP scales exponential (the overflow would give you a negative max HP).

But yes, the actual XP you can get in a run is much smaller. The more interesting question would be what is the minimum level you can finish the game with?

Fumihiko: I'm pretty sure the speedrunners have finished this game with minimal EXP.

None of the guides I have seen have finished the game yet--a testament as to how huge the game is. And then, of the areas they do finish, I have seen things omitted altogether (that I myself did, or else did differently), and lots of typos--indicating a rush...;) It'll be awhile, I suspect.

I'd recommend:

Talk to everyone
Complete every quest you can
look in every container
Maximize your skills for every character

--Basically, leave no stone unturned...;)
