I'm working on an adventure which will require NPC children of all races. The engine only has models for human children. I can't find any mods for nonhuman children (though if I missed one please point me its way) and I haven't a clue how to get started editing character models, though I'm willing enough to give it a try. I couldn't find any tutorials on the subject of modifying character models on YouTube or the wiki or here in the forums. (Again, if I missed one, please show me.) Is editing character models something we can do in the engine and, if so, how?

In the editor you can scale characters. I think this would be the easiest way: Scale them to 0.6 or whatsover, look out for a more childish face, outfit, no beards and I'm pretty sure the result wouldnt be that bad.

I have seen one negative consequence of merely scaling creatures down though, in that their animations speed up to match the distance traveled with respect to their size. That is, if you scale a human down to half the size and keep their walk and run speed the same, their animations execute at twice the speed. I mean, it makes sense from a physics standpoint but it looks really funny. smile Not sure if there is a way to alter their animation speed.

This may not impact this particular use case, but I figured it might be good to know.

Good point Windemere! What happens if you set walkspeed*scale factor?
Anyway besides the female breast parts, these are looking quite fine to me. At least not immersion breaking.

Small adults was definitely what I was going to try if I couldn't [s]create new[/s] copy and edit character models, but I also keep thinking of this meme and sort of chuckling to myself.

Haha. though i have to say most of the visuals i used in that screenshot above don't look so grown up. Beside the secondary sexual characteristics. But different races maybe come with a different way of growing up and adolescence.

I think it works best for the lizards and male dwarves. Possibly the elf children just need to be a little taller...? I'm definitely gonna fiddle around with it. Thanks for the help. :)

So.... is there a way to change the voice assigned to a character model? I can convince myself that tiny men aren't immersion breaking, but the moment a little boy lets out a deep, manly grunt as he does a kick-flip during combat most certainly is.
