Should probably consider Steam indeed in this case at least. You're 'supposed' to be able to play cross service using direct connect, but that feels like it can be a bit sketch at times. Also you've got the whole ordeal with mods, syncing that up. So splitting up your services just adds a whole lot more of potential failpoints.
