Hi guys! I'm new on the forums. But I'm a bit baffled as to why the system requirements for this game seem to beat my system up to no end.

Can anyone please elaborate to me two things:
Why my laptop is having just such a hard time running this?
Why auto-detect sets my graphics at ultra?

I was able to play D:OS 60+ fps. And my rig even plays GTA V 70+ FPS on medium settings, 720p.

Having said that, I'm just a college student, and I just recently bought this laptop. I tend not to dish out the extra money required for a gaming PC/notebook. But if that's the way it has to be, then so be it.

I've also noticed that performance with my particular graphics card is fairly random, with some games running great to others running comparably horrible.

On medium settings with *no* extra/special effects (i.e. bloom, radial blur, ect...) turned on, my computer struggles to even get 20fps with the game. Everything is medium, and the resolution is @ 720p.

My Sys:
OS: Windows 10 64x
GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 [Integrated]
Nvidia Geforce 940MX [Dedicated] 2gb,GDDR5 variant
P: Intel i5-6200U 2.3Ghz can turbo up to 2.8Ghz
RAM: 16 Gb ddr4

Tell me if you need anything more. The problem I'm having is that I'm not a stickler for 120 fps performance, but I'd think with the graphics of the game I'd at least get 45fps (around that) with 720p medium graphics.

I literally get better performance on the Witcher 3, lowest settings.

In my opinion, something isn't adding up. My drivers are up to date, windows is updated. And I made sure my GPU running is the 940mx.

I personally stopped playing the game at Fort Joy because I've heard the areas only get harder to run from here. Not to mention, I'm getting a horrible, wonky stutter. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to come to consoles.

My personal idea is that the processing unit is too weak to run the game. However, I don't see such a big shift in the graphics here to warrant such a low low performance rate from D:OS to D:OSII.

What gives? :S

Hello there.
How did you make sure that the gpu running was your 940mx? From the behavior you describe everything points to the dedicated vga not activating (that would also explain the random game behavior you mention).
You can try forcing your gpu to activate with DoS2 from nvidia control panel or try to make a clean install of your drivers (completely uninstall everything hd graphics/nvidia related then reinstall the drivers of your hd graphics/nvidia preferably from your laptop's manufacturer site).
I hope it is something as simple as that cause your specs seem fine for this game (i run dos2 on 1080 on inferior lap than yours (i7 4500u and ati 8850m) with 30-40 fps most of the time).
