Okay- I have been having crashing problems since trying to re-enter Vidistis after visiting the Dark Forest. Now however, every so oftem, the crashes re-occur, generally when trying to re-enter Vidistis, or the Council chambers- forcing me to grab a new copy of the applicable world files from the Startup.v2 folder. My last screw up almost saw me throwing in the towel. I completely cleared out the Sewers under Vidistis, and when I tried to exit the dungeon using my teleporter stones (teleporting back to Rivertown)... the game crashed.

I dutifully replaced the world.x0 file, only to find that when I teleported my teleporter stone was missing! Holy ****! Now what!? Okay- so thanks to a fellow Canadian- I found a work-a-round to replace those. I saved my games, and tried zipping around all my Activators to make sure things were working fine- they were- until I went to the council chambers, and noticed that two of the Scrying Statues (Mage and Human I believe) were open again, but thankfully not interactive (no tooltip), so I believe that the quest is not broken. All the Ambassadors I had summoned where there, but my big question is- is my end game going to be fried because of this- have I broke any quests, and am I slowly working my way into a dead-end by constantly replacing the world files? And why the HELL do I need to keep replacing my world files to begin with!?

Any imput and/or solutions for this problem would be helpful. Till the next time.

If you just delete the world.x1 file from the save game folder, the game will replace it for you the next time the save is loaded.

As you found, the world files keep track of items directly on the ground.

I have no idea why this file keeps getting corrupt. Several people have run into this, but I don't recall it happening repeatedly before.

This problem should not break any quests (other than re-sealing quest opened locations and destroying quest items left on the ground, but there are work arounds for both of these). Once you undergo the blessing ritual, this file should not have any effect on the game.
