This is horrible!!! I know im newbie <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> and this migth be easily fixed.. but please help me... And then it while I play the desktop comes up... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" /> And its difficult to make the game work.. When the desktop comes up, is that because Divinity crashed and exited abruptly, or does it just get minimized? Sounds like the former. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

Sometimes it goes minimized and sometimes it exits ... both i think. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Do you have a Windows key on your keyboard (which by default brings up the start menu when pressed)? Some systems have a problem with minimizing or alt-tabbing out of DirectX games. If you are hitting this key by accident, it can be disabled;

If the problem is random crashes, you can try running the configuration program and switching to a different mode or lower resolution, set your desktop colour depth to 16 bit (I didn't have a problem with 32 bit, but some people have), check for updated video / sound drivers, etc.

I had a similar issue where loading any save game would result in a crash to the desktop. New games would start fine tho it was loading the saves that killed it. In the end I had to reinstall the game and copy over my saves and that worked thankfully. When all else fails mate, just reinstall and be damn with it.
