This post is sort of a follow up to an earlier post: http://larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=638144&#Post638144

I have tested scripts in GM mode and no matter what script I use it bugs out the play session.

I have confirmed with other modders that they have successfully used scripts such as PlayEffect with no issues, however, when I test a basic map with a PlayEffect script it bugs out in GM mode when I have a player.

The script works fine in the editor, and it works when I test it in the "Prepare Campaign" mode with an npc. But when I use the map in Play Campaign with a playtester, the mod bugs out and after character creation the player is sent to the screen attached here: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/217356210565808128/385217708783960065/image.jpg

Clearly this is some sort of bug issue, since others have confirmed that these scripts work on their maps.

I am looking for any advice on how to fix this issue.

A few quick facts:
The map is set as a gm map.
The map works fine without the scripts in a separate mod.
I have tested scripts that are exact copy pastes from another modder who has used the script successfully in a gm game session.
I have tried it with the player downloading direct from me, and from steam with the same result.
My playtester can play the map normally in "prepare campaign" mode on his computer.
When he hosts the map as a session the same bug happens to me as a player.
We both have the same version of the game.

Is your mod perhaps dependent on the DivinityOrigins mod as well? Using both the DivinityOrigins mod and targetting GM mode does not currently work. We are looking into solving that in a future patch.

Yes, I have origins in the dependencies. Will conduct further testing without origins dependency.

Confirmed, did a small test with secret region and playeffect, both worked fine after removing Origins as a dependency.

As an adendum, the translated strings for books and notes which I created still are not working. I can read the item as the gm, but the player cannot.

The dependency issues between Origins and GM should be fixed by the latest patch smile Also, if your add-on happened to have a custom story built, it could cause conflicts. This has also been addressed in today's patch.

Translated strings, I'll have to take a look at. This should be supported. Are you adding strings for new books/notes you created yourself?

Sincerely,
Kevin
