I played this game with my friend during early access and it worked without a hitch, but we just can't seem to connect either way now. The only thing that has changed is that I have moved and am now using my campus' internet.
Me: GoG version, connecting via ethernet and I don't have access to the router. Can connect to friend 2 but not to friend 1. Can connect to random public games in the lobby.
I'm using Direct Connect (either via ID or IP) and it spends a long time trying to connect compared to deliberately typoing the address. Have tried turning off my local firewall and setting the network to trusted, as well as running the game in admin mode and making sure I have no antivirus or similar things running.
Friend 1: Steam version, can connect to friend 2 but not me.
Friend 2: Steam version, can connect to everyone.
It works if Friend 2 hosts for us, but the tricky bit is that he's rarely available and the remaining two of us aren't able to play unless he's around.
I'm guessing this is a port issue but other games or apps haven't given me this problem before.
I've googled quite a bit for this but am mostly finding months old threads with similar issues that still haven't gotten it to work.
Any hope of getting this sorted? I'd be curious if I would be able to connect if I had the Steam version instead, but I'm not keen on buying a second copy of the game for it.
