Hi. I have been trying to enjoy this game really bad. I have been playing these type of games for quite a while, but for some reason, I uterly and shamely get my ass kicked really bad when playing on classical difficulty.

I have been searching around the internet to try and figure out what am I doing wrong, but I can't figure it out. So I have to downgrade to 'Explorer Level', but now the game lost it's appeal as it is way too easy.

I have seen other people mentioning the same thing... I was wondering if it could be possible to add another diffculty level that would fall in between?

I know I am not the only one in this particular situation, so you guys could capture another audience. As its stand, I have more or less any desire to play the game.

Thanks.

A few tips:

Choose your battles wisely - hover your mouse over your adversaries and compare their level to yours and decide if it's a fight you should be attempting.

Right-click on your enemy to see their immunity's (or is it left-click) - that way you don't waste attempting attacks that your enemy is immune to.

Finesse characters are fairly overpowered. Get a good dual-wield thief with backstab and/or a ranger in the party.

Make good use of terrain to take advantage of height bonuses for rangers.

Think about the setup before engaging in a battle. Is the enemy drawing you into an area where they have an advantage? If so, turn the tables and draw them to you and get setup for it.

The problem is not the difficulty level, the problem is the kind of the level design. The beginning of the game in Fort Joy is pretty though, because you have to fight fully equipped guys while your equippment sucks. But that issue we had poined out from the start and they did not care.

Up to level 4/5 it is kind of though, but afterwords it is getting kind of too easy most of the time.

I've been adding mods to make the game harder since I started playing it, I don't understand people having difficulties on classic mode...

Today me and a friend started a tactician with half xp and enemy randomization mod, maybe now we can have some true challenge =D

You need to consider that making it too easy will also cost them fans. There has to be a balance. Without a challenge, I wouldnt want to play the game and I played it on the hardest level from the start. I though it was too easy after the 1st 2-3 hours. On my second play through I added the double enemies mod to make it harder.

That said, the initial part is somewhat hard until you figure out how to control the field. This is the key to the game. You can control enemies by disabling them, summoning meat shields, moving around and/or moving them around. Positioning is very important. That said, its possible you selected a team that has no control abilities. This would make the game very hard but not salvageable. Every skill tree offers some sort of way to deal with combat control. Once you understand how it works, the game becomes manageable and eventually easy.
