Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Bugs & Technical Problems Can't start the game anymore

Since the windows update yesterday everytime I start the game I hear the intro sounds playing and then the main menu music. But all I see is a black screen. The cursor does change to the games cursor.

I've tried updating my graphics card drivers, directx drivers, windows updates and currently trying out other stuff to find the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, how do I solve it?

For an error mentioning the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll, it is part of the Microsoft Universal C Runtime, which for Windows 7 or 8 can be downloaded at the link below, or gotten through Windows update (it is already part of Win 10).

None of that help me.

What I did do was I reverted to a previous version of Windows, that seems to do the trick for now. Hope it doesn't come back soon with an update.

If thats the case then your PC is the culprit, not the game, lol
Also, reverting to prev windows versions can have more problems in the long run, so update regularly via win updates

And it (may also) be driver conflict, but better update the game (via patches) becoz it helps in optimization meaning more faster and better gaming experience, less bugs too
