*SPOILERS AHEAD* So I've located my three Source Masters and I can now go play the 'it's okay to inhale' game again, but I've been stalling because I'm worried that at some point (possibly immediately after performing the second ritual) I'll be whisked away to yet another continent and not be able to complete the quests I have open in Chapter 2. I mean, look what happened when I got on the Lady Vengeance, right? This is my first run playing not only D:OS2 but *any* Divinity games, so I know Arx is on the menu next but I don't even know where Arx is. So without giving anything away, I'd just like to know: Is it ok to perform the second ritual before wrapping up loose ends in Reaper's Eye?
Hey, hey, hey — don't be mean. We don't have to be mean. 'Cause, remember: no matter where you go... there you are.

You can do the ritual: the Lady Vengeance is the key to leaving the area (unless it's changed since my last play-through, that is!) Arx isn't quite next, but Divinity games do have something of a habit of implementing "the point of no return" when travelling between major areas. As ever, make a permanent save when you see a crucial decision looming, just in case!

I don't quite understand. This kind of thing is exactly what a SAVEGAME is for. Furthermore, isn't it BOTH faster AND more exciting to figure such things out by yourself?

Absolutely, I do back up my game often. Unfortunately for me, I'm using over a dozen mods and I've had compatibility issues with one or two, so load times can be well over an hour. I'd like to avoid this whenever possible. Even were that not the case, YOUR way of playing the game isn't the ONLY way of playing it. What I don't understand is why there is pushback from fellow players when I ask a question in the official game forum. Isn't the whole point of the forum to have a supportive place to share ideas, have fun talking about the game, and help each other? @vometia: Thanks for the help, that's just what I needed to know

Right, I was aware that I was being kind of a dick when I posted that. Two things: 1) I WAS indeed rather baffled by your question, and I tried a bit too hard to convey the bafflement in my question. I'm sorry I'm just an efficient guy. 2) Unfortunately for me, I'm using over a dozen mods and I've had compatibility issues with one or two, so load times can be well over an hour. I'd like to avoid this whenever possible Well you didn't say all that in your first post, did you? I'm so sorry I should've GUESSED that you're using over a dozen mods and you've had compatibility issues with one or two, so load times can be well over an hour for you. I assure you that, if I HAD known all that (somehow), I wouldn't have had the urge to be such a dick. In all of the parallel possibilities, in the one in which you did say so in the first place, the "me" there didn't act like a churl at all. I firmly believe so. Even were that not the case, YOUR way of playing the game isn't the ONLY way of playing it You'll have to elaborate a bit here. What do you mean by "my way of playing the game"? Are you referring to the "backing up your game" and "loading it when shit goes south" routine? Sorry, I thought that is THE way of playing most video games these days. I apologize for my ignorance. (*whispering to myself: "But he did say "Absolutely, I do back up my game often"...! Oh well maybe he just never loads those savegames"* - but hey, now that I know your reason, I'm not going to say this out loud, so you're not hearing this, alright?) But anyway, I honestly couldn't resist the urge to be a dick back there (AND a sarcastic bastard in this one). Believe it or not, in all of my 190+ posts on here, I've always been a pretty chill and reasonable and supportive gentleman. You can verify this yourself by look up all of my posts; I have nothing to hide (I'm not sure if there is indeed such a function though...). Please take care, and I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the game, good sir.

You can verify this yourself by look up all of my posts; I have nothing to hide (I'm not sure if there is indeed such a function though...). I have seen your posts all over this forum, and I know in the posts I've seen you have been "a pretty chill and reasonable and supportive gentleman." This is partly why I took your first reponse a little personally. The other part comes from similar sarcastic replies I've received in response to what I thought were ordinary questions. Obviously that has nothing to do with you, which is why I didn't single you out and instead I referred to anonymous "fellow players". Even were that not the case, YOUR way of playing the game isn't the ONLY way of playing it What I meant here is that, while you apparently take a more purist approach to the game where you rely only on yourself and load savedgames when necessary to reverse mistakes, this is not necessarily how I play the game. I like having a forum and being part of a community of players, and having the ability to ask questions about the game if I want to. In the end we're talking about playing a game, and while everyone is free to post until they're blue in the face about how they feel the game should be played, people can play however they like. I completely understand the impulse to be sarcastic; I'm a lot more sarcastic than most people I know. And believe me, I know that the written word is hugely open to misinterpretation - there is no facial expression or tone of voice to inform us how to interpret text. So it's easy to be misunderstood. So, no hard feelings and have fun storming the castles

As they say - I was just messing with you, wanted to see how you would react, having some fun at your expense, and all that, etc. (I've always considered myself the chaotic neutral type with a bad case of mood swings, btw). I know it might have left a bad taste. Let's just consider it a bad joke, if you will.
That being said, I'm assuming this is still your 1st playthrough, so I think you probably don't want to play with mods, just so you can at least experience the entire original game once. Let alone playing with so many mods that you get such an unstable playthrough. What you said (incompatibilities, long loading times) sounds like major pain to me. Especially in the case of this game, where chances are good that you'll have to reload a lot.
