Hello!
I've discovered another gut-kicking bug that halts the final steps in production even further. As I'm still waiting for the level templates / instances compatibility patch, the conclusion led to repainting instances a second round as I've moved our work into Fort Joy.
Though as it turns out, it isn't possible to instance paint in inherited levels at all this patch. I admittedly did reckon something was wrong upon loading Fort Joy the first time after the last editor patch, as the terrain work I had done had reset, and suddenly more of the default instance paintings actually shows in editor and in the instance painting editor (although they can't be erased in-world hence making much changes to existing flora isn't possible, another boo-boo but not directly relevant to this bug report).
I spent a few hours painting one the isles yesterday, log back in to the editor today and behold, all the work was gone. Did I forgot to save? That was my first thought, although it's unlike me. I save a lot. So I try to paint a bit more and hit save, reload the editor.
Instances are gone. Again.
So not only are instance painting not transferred through level templates, but neither can we currently paint any instances at all in inherited levels, such as Fort Joy.
I had initially hoped to have Episode 1 of Chronicles of Divinity ready by New Year. Then slightly delayed to PAX South. This discovery has been a huge breathtaker in my stamina. If something that worked before suddenly don't after a patch, who is to say other things won't break in the future? 1500+ hours in, I can't but worry much of it may be lost some day due to a simple patch irreversibly resetting / breaking something.
I normally try to be patient and understanding, I've been waiting for a level templates / instances fix for a good while now. But this honestly desperately (picture a guy on his knees begging) needs a hotfix.
